Yes. Small groups of friends can apply together — let us know on your booking form and we will do our best to place you on the same or nearby projects and accommodation. For larger groups, schools, or organisations, contact us to discuss a tailored group placement.

Most programs welcome participants from 16 years old with no upper age limit. We host gap year students, university students, career changers, and retirees. Our Medicine & Healthcare internship has a minimum age of 16.

For most programs, no formal qualifications are required — enthusiasm, commitment, and reasonable spoken English are what matter most. Medical internship participants should be studying or working in a healthcare-related field. Our local staff provide orientation and ongoing guidance throughout your placement.

Yes. We welcome volunteers from around the world. A multinational mix of participants is part of the cultural exchange experience we offer in Kenya.

Our full-time local team in Nanyuki supports you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They arrange your placement, meet you on arrival, and are always available by phone if you need help. You will also have a supervisor at your project for day-to-day guidance.

We only operate in stable areas where we have established local partnerships and staff on the ground. Our team monitors conditions closely and provides safety briefings during orientation. Follow their guidance and use common sense, as you would when travelling anywhere new.

Yes. Our staff meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi) or coordinate overland arrivals. Airport transfers to your accommodation in Nanyuki are included in your program fee.

Our local team know where to access reliable medical care and will assist you if you become unwell. Emergency contact details and medical guidance are provided during orientation. We recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance before you depart.

Evenings and weekends are generally free for independent travel and local exploration. Kenya offers incredible wildlife, landscapes, and culture to discover. Many volunteers also travel after their placement ends.

Most volunteers stay in homestays or shared volunteer houses in Nanyuki. Accommodation is comfortable by local standards and selected for safety and community connection. Meals are included — typically three per day.

Yes. Mobile data and Wi-Fi are widely available in Nanyuki. Many volunteers use a local SIM card or eSIM to stay in touch with family and friends. Our team can advise on the best options when you arrive.
